Different Strains For ... Different Folks

The Golden Teacher (GT) 

Golden Teachers look a lot like the Psilocybe cubensis mushrooms you might find growing in the wild. They have white stems, and dark golden caps. If you've experimented with magic mushrooms, chances are you've gotten your hands on a Golden Teacher. They are one of the most common strains amongst magic mushrooms. 

Golden Teachers are one of the easiest mushrooms to cultivate, especially for beginners. This strain is known for its aggressive cultivation. It myceliates quickly, and produces a large amount of fruiting bodies per square inch of myceliation. It is a beginner mycologist's perfect mushroom.

There are several liquid mushroom culture recipes, and here at Haus, we've experimented with several. Liquid mushroom culture can be made by sterilizing honey or Karo - Light Corn Syrup in the proper ratios of water. We don’t need to tell you about who Steve Jobs was and what he did. Let’s highlight his brilliant mind, and dedication to making his creations loved throughout the world. 

In an early interview, Jobs was asked if he would consider himself a hippy or a nerd. “If I had to pick one of those two, I’m clearly a hippy,” Jobs stated, “and all the people that I work with are clearly in that category too.”  

Steve described how his colleagues worked with computers, not because they loved computers, but rather as a “medium” to connect and deliver their feelings and be used for their creative outlets. 

Jobs went on to describe in the interview that there is more to life than the ordinary 9-5, and that life has another side to it that many of us find ourselves searching for.

Maria Sabina Magdalena Gracia was born in a small town in Oaxaca, Mexico on July 22, 1894. Her father was a shaman, and had many healers that would travel to their home. Maria was eight years old the first time she tried the divine “magic” mushroom. 

It was around that time that Maria’s uncle fell very ill. The mushroom gave her visions of the herbs that her uncle needed to remedy himself, she cooked them for him, and he recovered. At a very young age Maria was dubbed a wise and talented shaman of her community. 

In 1955 Robert Gordon Wasson, and a few others, traveled to Oaxaca to receive an indigenous mushroom ritual with Maria Sabina. Wasson published an article in LIFE magazine about his experience that fueled the counterculture movement of the ‘60s.
